Is this the Templar Cross appearing over Jesus' face in the 4 superimposed images of Da Vinci's Last Supper?

Look closely at the cross in the exact center of the image, where Jesus's head is:

What is it?

The above image of the Last Supper was created by taking a digital photo of the Last Supper and rotating 3 copies of it 90º,

while superimposing them over the base image so that there are a total of 4 images rotated in the 4 cardinal directions. You'll also notice

that the entire image itself makes a perfect Templar Cross, with the smaller Templar Cross and Jesus' face appearing exactly in its center:

How Did I Discover This?

I discovered this curious cross effect after reading about an Italian computer guy who recently claimed to have found a

secret image in Da Vinci's painting after superimposing 2 images flipped 180º horizontally. While trying to duplicate his results,

I made the above discovery which seems like less of a stretch visually than his claim. I don't claim that

the image that appears IS the Templar Cross, but the resemblance and location of the cross is pretty incredible!

How to recreate this effect yourself in Photoshop:

Start with the base image and follow the steps below:

1. Copy the image above and paste into a new Photoshop document

2. Duplicate the layer and rotate it 90º clockwise. Set the opacity to 50%.

3. Duplicate the second layer and rotate it 90º. Set opacity to 50% (you'll see the cross already).

4. Duplicate the third layer and rotate it 90º. Set the opacity to around 30% for clearest effect.

You should now have a document with 4 layers with the "Templar Cross" appearing exactly in the middle at about a 45º angle.
